The Mouse House is not the only one reviving Pinocchio though. Guillermo del Toro has been developing a stop-motion feature based on the beloved story for several years now. Robert Downey Jr and his wife are also working on a similar project.

In the meantime, a reference to the puppet who dreams of becoming a real boy can be found on “Avengers: Age of Ultron” when it arrives in US theatres on May 1. Ultron quotes Pinocchio song “I’ve Got No Strings” as he goes rogue.
