Gang of Ghosts is a great concept, very unique and exceptional. Though it has an ensemble cast,I chose to be part of it as I have seen the original and was very impressed. I play the character of a struggling writer.
Sharman Joshi will be seen as an Army officer in War Chhod Do Na Yaar,a war-comedy that releases on October 11. A message-oriented film,it is about a war with the neighbouring country. This is Joshis first release post Ferrari Ki Sawari in June 2012. However, the actor is not worried about having a single release this year, and is looking forward to 2014 when three of his films, belonging to different genres, hit the screens.
The first project that Joshi started shooting for was Indra Kumars Super Nani,in January this year. When it was 90 per cent complete, the director took a break to work on Grand Masti which kept him busy for three to four months. Now that the film has done extremely well at the box-office,we are back shooting for Super Nani. During this time,I also signed up Gang of Ghosts and War Chhod Na Yaar, said the actor.
Vikram Bhatt-Reliance Productions titled 1920 London with a new director Tinu Desai is also scheduled for 2014 along with Super Nani and Satish Kaushiks Gang of Ghosts.
A remake of the 2012 Bengali film Bhooter Bhabishyat,Joshi says,Gang… is a great concept, very unique and exceptional. Though it has an ensemble cast,I chose to be part of it as I have seen the original and was very impressed. I play the character that Sabyasachi Chakrabarty did in the Bengali version, that of a struggling writer. And this is the only character that has been changed slightly in the Hindi version while the other characters remain the same.
1920 London, which has a story penned by Vikram Bhatt,is a supernatural-romantic drama. It also stars Meera Chopra,Vishal Karwal and Sushmita Mukherjee. Since it is a period film,we have shot 50 per cent in London,in the castles around Leeds and on the outskirts. Mumbai will be the location for the rest of the film, said Joshi who is attempting a supernatural film for the first time. He laughs saying,Actually there is not much to do really for the actors as the director does most of the work. This particular genre is completely driven by the director.
Another film that Joshi is looking forward to is Super Nani,a comedy and social drama based on a Gujarati play. It is the story of a grandmother and grandson. Rekha and Randhir Kapoor play the grandparents. Indra Kumars daughter Shweta is cast opposite me. He is directing the film for producer Ashok Thackeria.
The dates of the releases of all the films, however, are yet to be finalised.
