I’m proud about how Dia has taken up being a producer, and is enjoying it too. I’m looking forward to the day when she’ll start directing. Hopefully,it should happen in a few year’s time

Two years after the release of their maiden production Love Breakups Zindagi (LBZ),Born Free Entertainment announced their next project. Bobby Jasoos stars Vidya Balan in the lead. Evidently, producers Dia Mirza and Sahil Sangha have spent a considerable amount of time with writers, developing scripts. “After LBZ,we didn’t have a script that excited us,although we explored several proposals. For us,the brainstorming sessions with the script writers was a very gratifying process. We spent the last two years working on three subjects, but decided to begin with Bobby Jasoos and we managed to cast Vidya in the role of Bobby. The film shall go on floors in November in Hyderabad and like LBZ,it will also be a start-to-finish schedule. Besides this,we have two other scripts ready, for which we will make announcements soon,” says Sangha. Dia adds,“It took a while to have a final script. We didn’t want to cast anyone without having a proper draft. I’m really excited that Vidya loves the script and is eager to start work.”

Talking about Bobby Jasoos,an animated Dia says,“What drew us to the story was the fact that it’s a journey of a woman who wants to be a detective. People perceive detective films to be dark and serious, with thrill, but what I love about this film is the colour, the effervescence, the humour, the love and the rise of a human spirit.”

Evidently,Dia has turned into a full-fledged producer. That explains why we haven’t seen her on-screen for quite some time. Has acting taken a backseat? “I’ve refused a lot of acting offers because I’ve chosen to be a producer and I’m happy. Whatever it is on the acting side has to be exciting enough,to tear me away from what I’m doing right now. ”

Sahil,on the other hand,is proud of his lady love, and adds,“It’s a gradual change. I’m proud about how Dia has taken up the responsibilities, and is enjoying it too. I’m looking forward to the day when she’ll start directing. Hopefully,it should happen in a few year’s time.”

Now should we take it as a subtle hint? You shouldn’t be surprised if you see the actress-turned-producer,don another new hat all together!
