Both of last week’s releases,Ramaiya Vastavaiya and D-Day are performing decently at the box office.

Though the multi-starrer crime-thriller D-Day garnered much acclaim before its official release and opened to good reviews,it was surpassed by the remake of Telugu hit,Maine Pyar Kiya.

In its opening weekend,Ramaiya Vastavaiya, starring debutant Girish Kumar and Shruti Haasan, boasted of a collection of Rs 15.30 crore, with Rs 4.10 crore on the day of its release.

Indian Express’ critic Shubhra Gupta in her review wrote, why and for whom is this film being made?

D-Day,which had got positive reviews, collected approximately Rs 13.69 crore on its opening weekend, with Rs a mere Rs 2.94 crore on Friday.

D-Day starring Arjun Rampal,Rishi Kapoor,Irrfan Khan,Shruti Haasan and Huma Qureshi created a rage at the box office and is still receiving ample praise.

Though not much has been said about Prabhu Deva’s light-hearted rom-com,the film has clearly performed better than expected, once again proving that performances at the Box Office simply cannot be predicted.
