After the success of the web series ‘Man’s World’, Yash Raj Films’ youth wing ‘Y-Films’ has come up with yet another unique concept based short web series named ‘Bang Baaja Baaraat’.

The new web series stars Ali Fazal, Ayesha Raza, Gajraj Rao, Rajit Kapur, Shernaz Patel, Preetika Chawla, Priyanshu Painyuli, Neil Bhoopalam and debutante Angira Dhar in rather interesting roles.

Ali Fazal and Angira Dhar are the much-in-love couple and the one where the girl asks for a promise from the boy – that he would always brush his teeth before sleeping and to keep them “on the same page”, the love-struck boy agrees too.

What happens thereafter is just about enough to put every big fat Indian wedding to shame. There’s dance, fun and a whole lot of insanity. The movie seems to trace what happens when two diametrically opposite families meet and have to strike a camaraderie, since as they say in India, rather than the two people concerned, it’s the two familes who get married.

Amidst the chaos and conflict of the ideologies, will the lovebirds be able to keep up the love and remain “on the same page”? Will the two families ever get to stand next, by and for each other? And will the love and promises stand the test of time?

The web series is an interesting take on the multitude of cultures that co-exist in India. And along with them, the traditional style of living and the modern way that have happened to intersect each other.

The series is ably directed Anand Tiwari. The star cast seems perfect, with the debutante Angira Dhar taking up the mantle with sheer confidence.

This one promises to be another fun watch from Y-Films.
