For all those bored of heavy romantic and action dramas that Bollywood has been dishing out lately, Kahaani 2 might just come as an anti-dote for it promises to be an exciting edge-of-the-seat thriller with the formidable Vidya Balan playing the lead in part two of this franchise film. Let’s see how the film is stacked up a day before its release.
Kahaani has managed an average of six to nine screen numbers in most multiplexes which is not exactly great considering that the norm today is anything anging between 9 to 12. While the quantity of screen numbers doesn’t look staggeringly big, Kahaani 2 can still collect decent numbers in the opening weekend as no other movie is lined up for release. Erotic thriller Wajah Tum Ho has now been postponed which leaves Kahaani 2 with an open free ground to run amok.

This one should be a killer purely because it is Sujoy Ghosh directing his favourite Vidya Balan again and we are hoping that’s reason enough to hazard a guess that Kahaani 2 would make for an exciting watch. From the trailer, it is evident that part two will follow a similar trail that Kahaani had left behind which will ultimately leave audience hooked and booked and hopefully clapping at the end of the film.
Vidya Balan as always is shouldering this women centric film on her own. The actress needs a hit as her past few outings have not really set the cash registers ringing. Kahaani 2 might just be the kind of film that she needs to return to form. Supporting her this time is Arjun Rampal who plays the role of a cop. It would be interesting to see what sort a partnership Vidya and Arjun will stitch together on screen.
Kahaani 2 will offer a clear view of whether the after effects of the almost one month old demonetisation are receding or not. Vidya believes they have died down already and her film will face no hurdles. We would rather wait, watch and pray Vidya is right.
