January 26, 2014 marked the first Republic Day Parade in Mumbai, which took place at Marine Drive. The parade saw an impressive turnout from Bollywood celebrities who were seated in separate cars, waving to fans as they slowly drove down the seaside.

This is the first time the parade was held at the Marine Drive in south Mumbai, instead of the Shivaji Park ground in central Mumbai.

An Indian Express journalist along with actress Poonam Dhillon, was aboard a 1934 Bentley, one of 32 vintage cars that formed part of the first Republic Day Parade in 2014.
On being asked how she felt to be a part of the first ever Republic Day Parade in the city, Poonam Dhillon said: “Amazing…It was worth waking up early and being here to be part of this atmosphere which is amazing…And this car is amazing.”
Other celebrities including Salman Khan, Preity Zinta, Ranbir Kapoor, Sushmita Sen, Shreyas Talpade, Aarti Chabaria and Bhagyashree, were also part of the vintage car parade.
