Acting talent Kamal Haasan, who has never endorsed a brand in his five-decade-long career, has appeared in a commercial for popular textile showroom brand, Pothys.
Reportedly, Kamal Haasan was paid a whopping Rs. 10 crore for the ad. Further reports suggest that the actor contributed Rs. 16 crore to an NGO that helps children suffering from HIV/AIDS.
Kamal Haasan, who is a United Nations ambassador for HIV/AIDS, has actively campaigned for the Tamil Nadu AIDS Control Society as well.
The commercial features Kamal Haasan asking people what makes them proud. While they each give their answers, Kamal Haasan goes on to say that there is yet another reason for Tamilians to hold their heads up high, and that is because of Pothys silk.
Accompanied by the tagline, ‘People’s Pothys’, the new commercial was launched on October 1.
