Varun Dhawan, who will be teaming up again with his Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania co-star Alia Bhatt, has already started shooting for the first schedule of his film in Kota, Rajasthan. A few days ago, pictures from the shoot locations landed on social media and gave fans a glimpse of the two actors’ new avatar in the film. And while actors in today’s time have started doing their own stunts and go beyond their limits for playing their character on screen, Varun Dhawan is no exception. In his last action-packed film Dishoom, the Student Of The Year actor performed high-octane stunts. From riding bikes to hanging from a helicopter, Varun beautifully pulled off the risky action scenes with his co-stars in the film. And on the sets of Badrinath Ki Dulhania too, Varun didn’t mind getting himself intoxicated while shooting for an emotional scene in the film.
While preparing for one of the emotional scenes, Varun, who drinks occasionally, decided to have a few neat pegs of whiskey to act as a drunkard. The Dishoom actor knew that it was important for the scene to pull out the natural performance out of him.
“Varun had a few drinks, that too neat, to prepare for the scene. The idea worked, as the scene went off well. Even the director (Shashank Khaitan) praised his performance. Varun knew that he could not have managed such a natural performance without those drinks. If there’s a party or a special occasion, he may have one drink. But he knew that it was important for the scene,” an insider from the film sets told HindustanTimes.com
After the shooting for the scene, Varun slept for an hour on the sets to cure his hangover before shooting for the rest of the scenes on that day.
When the daily contacted Varun about the particular scene, he said, “I had a few drinks as the scene required that kind of an effect. I was high for a while, but everything was okay.”
