The year 2016 has been high on throwbacks. A lot of songs, from folk to party numbers, have been revamped and the world just can’t help itself from grooving on them. While Kala Chashma remains on the top of the chartbusters, ace choreographer and director Prabhudeva’s dance on Tutak Tutak Tutiya song by Malkit Singh and Saddi Rail Gaddi Aayi have kept us hooked to our screens. Talking about the idea about having such iconic songs in a film and how they help in boosting promotions, the actor turned producer Sonu Sood said no matter what a filmmaker does for his film, it is the content which matters and makes sense to the audience.

“It is true that bringing back old songs in a revamped version has become a trend and a way to attract audience to your film. But since audience nowadays has become very intelligent with their choices, the filmmakers have to give attention to the content more than anything else,” Sonu Sood told

He said a song is added to the film only to entertain and the purpose behind why he chose two iconic songs for his film was to connect the audience with the movie. He also said, “We don’t make films because we have song, it’s always the other way round. Also, we all have grown up with the song, so thought it will help others, who feel like me, to connect to the song. In fact, I thought of adding this song to the film after the entire film was shot.”

While Sonu wore the hat of the producer for the first time for Tutak Tutak Tutiya, Prabhudeva said the film’s concept was the only reason of acting in the film and producing it in two different languages, Tamil and Telugu. “The genre of horror comedy is so different and new for the industry that I also wanted to direct the film. The story is entertaining and emotionally indulging. ”

While the villainous of Sonu and dancer side of Prabhudeva have already been seen, the film will showcase Tammannah Bhatia in a new light altogether. In the film, the Baahubali actor plays a character with spilt personality. On the work front, reports suggest that Prabhudeva might choreograph South superstar Chiranjeevi in Khaidi 150. Meanwhile, Sonu is gearing up for the release of Kung Fu Yoga, with Jackie Chan and Tammannah is prepping up for SS Rajamouli magnum opus Baahubali’s sequel.
