Shraddha Kapoor is excited to play the role of Haseena Parkar, the late sister of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim. The film titled Haseena- The Queen of Mumbai went on floors last month and Shraddha’s role will showcase the life of Haseena from the age of 17 to 40. And if there is one thing that Shraddha regrets about her role, it is the chance of not having met Haseena herself who passed away in 2014.
Speaking to Indianexpress.com, Shraddha said, “I wish I could have met her. It would have been nice to actually know how she was. Although there is some footage of hers that has been taken. I will watch the footage and try my best.”
Apart from studying the footage, Shraddha also plans to meet the Parkar family. “I will be meeting her family and I am excited about that. I am very excited to play the role. It’s the story between a brother (Dawood) and sister which not many know about,” said Shraddha.
Haseena – The Queen of Mumbai is directed by Apoorva Lakhia also stars Shraddha’s brother Siddhant Kapoor as Dawood Ibrahim.
Shraddha, who is currently busy with Rock On 2 promotions, was all praise for her co-star from the film Farhan Akhtar who she wants to be directed by some day. “I would definitely want to be directed by him someday. Dil Chahta Hai is one of my favourite movies till date. As an actor, Farhan is very passionate on the sets and you can see that. When he is an actor, he is only that. You can see how well he can shift into his roles. He is also so talented. He writes, he produces, he sings, he directs. It’s awesome.”
Shraddha and Shashank Arora who are the new additions to the sequel were welcomed with open arms by the older actors. “Working with Purab, Arjun, Farhan was just amazing. They welcomed me and Shashank and we totally felt at home,” said Shraddha.
