Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan ringed in his 50th birthday on November 2. He has ruled Bollywood with his sheer acting prowess and has won accolades to his name. With no godfather in the Indian film industry, he appeared in more than 80 films in his acting career and has left his significance with the kind of roles he has portrayed onscreen and has a huge fan following around the world. After entertaining us with commercial hits like ‘Chennai Express’ and ‘Happy New Year’ in the year 2013-14, here’s a look at what’s in store for all King Khan fans in the near future.
For all those SRK’s fans, who are desperately waiting for a Shah Rukh Khan movie, here is the list of his upcoming movies, releasing in 2015-16.
Dilwale is undoubtedly the most awaited film of the year that will bring back Bollywood’s most romantic and iconic jodi of Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol together onscreen. SRK and director Rohit Shetty are collaborating for the second time after their superhit Chennai Express. SRK will once again be seen doing some cool stunts in the movie. The film also features the ‘Badlapur’ actor Varun Dhawan who is paired with the Heropanti actress Kriti Sanon for the first time. Having one of the finest cast of the season, Dilwale releases on December 18, 2015.
Helmed by award winning director Rahul Dholakia, Raees is set in 1980s Gujarat which tells the story of a boot-legger whose business is thwarted by a tough policeman. Shah Rukh Khan in and as Raees plays a Gujarati don. The film’s teaser released earlier this year was loved by all. SRK sports a bespectacled and bearded avatar of a don in the film. Pakistani actress Mahira Khan and Manjhi actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui are fine additions to the cast. The film is set to release on Eid 2016 and will clash with Salman Khan’s ‘Sultan’ that year.
SRK unveiled the first look of his much-awaited movie ‘Fan’ as a gift for his fans on his 50th birthday. This movie will prove to be a magnet for all SRK fans Shah Rukh Khan plays Gaurav, a die-hard fan of a superstar. It will be interesting to see SRK play a character inspired by one of his fans. In the teaser, SRK can be heard saying: “Duniya Ke Sabse Bade Superstar Ka Sabse Bada FAN”… “Aa gaya Gaurav”. Maneesh Sharma directorial Fan produced by Yash Raj films is slated to hit the theatres on April 15, 2016.
4. Gauri Shinde’s next:
For this yet to be titled movie Karan Johar came up with a unique idea of pairing the Bollywood baadshah with Student Of The Year actress Alia Bhatt in a film making it an odd onscreen pair. The film will be directed by ‘English Vinglish’ director Gauri Shinde. You won’t see a typical romance between the Bhatt girl and the King of romance as one expects from an SRK movie and is because of their age factor. It will be interesting to see how the two actors would develop their chemistry onscreen. Produced by Red Chillies Entertainment, Dharma productions and Hope productions, the film will go on the floors soon.
5. Don 3:
Shah Rukh Khan, who stepped into the shoes of Amitabh Bachchan in the remake of Don in 2006, followed by its sequel Don 2 in 2011 written and directed by Farhan Akhtar, was appreciated and loved by his fans and did good at the box office. Shah Rukh Khan played the role of a don while Priyanka chopra was seen in a pivotal role accompanied by veteran actor Boman Irani. Currently, producer Ritesh sidhwani is working on the film’s script. SRK’s fans are eagerly waiting for the third instalment of the Don franchise to arrive.
