Once bitten twice shy. Superstar Shah Rukh Khan on Monday refused to comment on Pakistani ghazal maestro Ghulam Ali’s upcoming performance in the eastern metropolis because of how people react whenever he makes political or religious remarks.

“Because of the reaction I get whenever I make political or religious comments, I will not use this platform to say anything on this,” Shah Rukh told the media here in response to a poser on Ghulam Ali’s concert.

Shah Rukh’s comments on the recent intolerance debate created quite a stir, but the 50-year-old actor maintained that he had not said anything which merited an apology.

However, he regretted that the box office collection of his film “Dilwale” was adversely affected due to protests by people who “misinterpreted” and “misconstrued” his comments on intolerance in the country.

Ghulam Ali will perform at the Netaji Indoor Stadium here on Tuesday.

After the cancellation of his concert in Mumbai due to threats by the Shiv Sena, Ghulam Ali in November had expressed his disappointment asserting “never to return to India”.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had offered Kolkata as a venue following the cancellation of the Mumbai concert in October.

criticizing an issue prevailing in country is not anti national or unpatriotic. If that is the case then all the hindus who are protesting and returning their awards for the killings of writers are also antinationals. Modi and Ramdev are also unpatriotic in that case. because they always keep on saying India is corrupt. does that not tarnish the image of the nation? Stop acting like fascists. have some sense. come out of ur blind hatred. This man is only name sake muslim. He does puja with wife. celebrates christmas. You people hate him just for his name which sounds muslim. so much hatred is not good for the country.

He will come back with a bang. this is not first time it is happening to him. he is fighting all this from over a decade now. his fans know he is not religious. haters can hate as much as they want. bad for their health

It is quite obvious that SRK is trying to avoid any new controversy. He is probably trying to avoid another hatemongering campaign by the hindutva brigade.

Seems SRK has learned his lesson. He can't take out his frustration on the w of India because Indian Authorities are investigating him for fraud.

INDIA should not allow even a SINGLE PAK CITIZEN to EARN even ONE RUPEE from India as Income Tax Paid from such earning by Pak Citizen to PAK GOVT sustain PAK ARMY too and ZAK-KATH paid from such earning FINANCE JI-HADI TRAINING MADRASAS- both sponsor TERR-ORISM in India. ............. Allowing Pak Citizens to earn CRORES in India is equivalent to INDIANS FINANCING JI-HADI ATTACK on INDIANS.
