Salman Khan to play a man with special needs in Kabir Khan’s Tubelight

Kabir Khan’s Tubelight will have Salman Khan playing a person with special needs for the first time in his career. “It would also be the first time when Salman would play a ‘special’ role in his career where he doesn’t do the usual or play to the gallery. Kabir has taken special effort to make sure that the character is presented sensitively in the film,” DNA quoted a source as saying.

The actor is likely to play a man-child who is a bit slow in learning things in the Kabir Khan film. The Bajrangi Bhaijaan director took to his Twitter handle two days back to post a picture from the location and wrote alongside, “So here we are… It all begins on the 28th… #Tubelight @BeingSalmanKhan”

Tubelight is a period film with 1962’s Indo-Chinese war as the backdrop. It is essentially a love story where Salman Khan’s character will seen falling in love with a girl from China. Salman has been cast opposite his real life brother Sohail Khan in the film.

According to sources, Salman is shooting for Bigg Boss 10 for a day and then leave for Ladakh and to shoot Tubelight in the first week of August . He will spend 48 hours getting accustomed to the extreme climatic conditions and then kickstart his first schedule.

Earlier, there was buzz that either Deepika Padukone or Katrina Kaif will be cast opposite Salman in Tubelight. However, with the new information emerging that he will be seen romancing a Chinese girl, we are likely to see a new face opposite the Sultan star. This is the third film of Kabir with Salman after Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Ek Tha Tiger.
