Shilpa Shetty is an art lover. Among the many paintings that Shilpa has at her home, the one that she especially treasures is a painting gifted by her good friend Salman Khan.

Talking at her friend Anu Malhotra’s art show, Shilpa told indianexpress.com, “Yes. I do have a Salman painting. He had a painted a Ganpati coming on to the boat after the visa ran. That’s how he perceived it. After immersion happens, when you return to your boat, Ganpati comes back to your house on the boat with you. He gifted this beautiful painting to my mother.”

Shilpa who is a self-confessed art lover confessed her love for abstract art. Praising her friend Anu for drawing abstract paintings, Shilpa said, “An abstract art makes for great beautiful viewing. When it’s abstract, you have to look deep to understand the meaning of the painting. It can’t be memorised.”

When asked if she has any painting inclinations, Shilpa quipped, “Yes, I paint my face.”

While Shilpa inaugurated Anu’s show as a friend, the latter declared that the proceeds from the show will be donated to the Shilpa Shetty foundation. Talking about it, Shilpa said , “I never speak about the Shilpa Shetty Foundation but since Anu has worked with me before and understands how I feel about this cause, I will. I have taken it in my stride to start this foundation with my husband to create awareness and do something from my end and Anu very kindly put forth the idea of donating the proceeds of this exhibition towards the foundation.”

As Diwali is fast approaches, Shilpa has some special plans on the professional front that she will reveal on October 26. “It’s going to be a Diwali bonanza,” indicated Shilpa.

And we couldn’t help but ask which movie she would catch first two days later on October 28 at the box-office — Ae Dil Hai Mushkil or Shivaay. “Both,” screamed Shilpa. “Both are my friends (Ajay Devgn and Karan Johar). I will watch both their films.”
