Produced by A Wednesday‘s producer Anjum Rizvi along with Aatef A Khan and K Asif,John Day stars Naseeruddin Shah and Randeep Hooda in lead roles.

While the trailer reveals hints of a mysterious death, dark eerie scenes prove to be quite spine tingling as well as some fight and chase sequences promise to provide a fair share of action.

“John Day‘ blurs the line between good and evil,” says director Ahishor Solomon. “there s a beast in every man and behind that Beast there’s a story” he says.

When asked why he picked the name John Day,Solomon says “if my name is Ahishor then why not John Day. I liked the sound of it.”

Though this is the first time we will see Naseeruddin Shah and Randeep Hooda sharing screen space, apparently the duo have some what of a history together.

Randeep had in fact attended the ‘Imagination & Improvisation’ workshop conducted by Naseeruddin Shah at National School of Drama in Delhi.

Randeep was also a part of Shah’s theatre troop for 13 years.

About his character in John Day,Randeep says “he grew up in an orphanage. Life hasn’t been fair to him and he treats life the same way it has treated him. There is no love in him,he is an actual animal.” the actor also said this is the most complex role he has ever played.

The pretty Elana Kazan revealed she plays “a woman with a dark past and no future”.

Randeep is quick to praise his co-star though,”Elana is a beautiful girl. And when you watch the film, you will see how far she will go in this industry.”

Randeep on being asked how he picks a role says,”the first thing that comes to mind is if I do not do this role, will I be losing out on the experience.” the actor also said that his biggest USP as an actor is doing roles that other actors will not do.

With tomorrow being independence day,the entire John Day team wished their fans and the entire country.

John Day also stars Shernaz Patel and Sharat Saxena.

Directed by Ahishor Solomon, the thriller film is slated to release by September 13.
