South actor- turned politician Chiranjeevi played a honest cop in his Bollywood debut film in 1990 and now his son Ram is following his footsteps by essaying a similar role in his first Hindi movie.
Almost a decade and a half ago,film Pratibhandh launched Telugu heartthrob Chiranjeevi in Bollywood,as a hard nosed honest cop.
Now after 23 years,Ram Charan Teja will also be seen in the avatar of a honest cop who battles his way to eliminate the deadly cartels of Oil Mafia (Prakash Raj) and protects the eyewitness (Priyanka Chopra) of a murder in the city in the remake version of Zanjeer.
The film is a remake of megastar Amitabh Bachchan’s hit 1973 film Zanjeer,which saw Big B playing a cop and Jaya Bachchan his love interest.
The new one,directed by Apoorva Lakhia stars Priyanka ,Prakash Raj,Mahie Gill,Atul Kulkarni and Sanjay Dutt. It releases on September 6.
