At the trailer launch of Raees, Shah Rukh Khan was spotted wearing a knee cap. When asked if he is again facing trouble with his knee, for which he had undergone surgery in 2015, the actor said, “I had a minor surgery back then, now I have to undergo a major surgery which takes 11 to 12 months. So I don’t want to take that chance, but I have not had my chance to rehabilitate. As soon as I am done with all my work I will start with my exercises again. It pains when I walk a little or stand for too long. So you see here. This is a metallic knee cap I am wearing for that purpose.”
At present, the actor is busy promoting Raees that will release in January 2017. After that, he has Imtiaz Ali’s film and Aanand L Rai’s film lined up. He had recently wrapped a grueling schedule for Imtiaz’s film in various cities of Europe.
Dr. Sanjay Desai, who has been following up on the Dear Zindagi actor’s medical case for the past few years, had earlier told Mumbai Mirror that his knee has completely worn out and repairing it will be difficult. “Since the actor will continue to shoot, we will perform another arthroscopic surgery on him to clean up the damaged part after 10 months,” the doctor had said earlier.
