Actress Priyanka Chopra today said she has a huge fear of failure and if her film does not do well she stays in a room for “two weeks”.

“I have a huge fear of failure. But failure drives me. If the film fails I do feel bad. I feel sad why it did not work as you put in lot of hard work into it. I stay in room for two weeks,” Priyanka said at the master class panel discussion on ‘Acting’, one of the myriad sub-events during the 15th Videocon D2H IIFA Weekend here.

“I am happy with the films I have done and there are unconventional films like Saath Khoon Maaf, What’s your Rashee, that did not do well,” the 31-year-old actress said.

“Another unconventional film was Barfi but it did well. When I was doing Barfi people told me it is not a heroine kind of a film and don’t do it. But I was sure I will do it and I am happy with the response,” she said.

Priyanka made the remarks while sharing the dais with Hollywood actor Kevin Spacey.

Priyanka, who has made a name for herself in Bollywood, is now trying to make a mark as a singer globally.

After giving hit films like Aitraaz, Fashion, Kaminey, Don, Dostana, Barfi among others, Priyanka will be seen next in filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s home production, a biographical film on the life of ace Indian boxer Mary Kom.

The movie is directed by Omung Kumar and will be released on October 2 this year.

Priyanka will essay the role of Mangte Chungneijang Mary Kom also known as MC Mary Kom, a five-time World Boxing champion and the only woman boxer to have won a medal in each one of the six world championships.

“It has been harder than I had thought to play the role of Mary Kom on screen. It was extremely demanding. After working on this film I really respect our heroes. They are muscular and in great shape. I really think body building is not easy,” Priyanka said.

“To look like a boxer was hard. It is not a biopic, it is a not the story of one girl but all girls. It is about girls who want to do something more in life,” she said.

Priyanka said that acting for her happened by chance as she became Miss World and later entered filmdom.

“I was reading a leading film magazine and I happened to read the interview of Mr Amitabh Bachchan where he said how many scenes one does in a film is not important what is important is that people should remember you when they come out of theatres after watching the film,” Priyanka said.

“In commercial Indian cinema female actors don’t have parts to prove. But continued…
