After Fawad Khan, it’s his co-star Mahira Khan from the TV show ‘Humsafar’ who is ready to make a foray into the Indian Film Industry with Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming movie ‘Raees‘.

The Pakistani actress, who made her film debut opposite singer-actor Atif Aslam in Shoaib Mansoor’s 2011 social drama, ‘Bol’, will be making her Bollywood debut with SRK’s movie. The makers were, apparently, looking for an international face instead of a familiar Bollywood name and that’s how Mahira bagged the coveted role.

The producer of the movie, Ritesh Sidhwani took to Twitter to confirm the development.

Mahira, recently, made a visit to India in the last week of November, courtesy the channel Zindagi, on which the Pakistani shows are telecasted and that was when the beautiful actress met the makers to discuss the project.

The Pakistani beauty first made news in India with her TV show ‘Humsafar’ where she portrayed the role of a simple yet strong girl ‘Khirad’ opposite Fawad Khan. The show became an instant hit and the lead pair of the show – Mahira and Fawad – overnight stars. Fawad recently made his Bollywood debut in the movie ‘Khoobsurat’ and earned rave reviews from the critics and audiences alike.
