Newlywed Lisa Haydon has been giving fitness and style goals to her fans. While we think that nothing can go wrong with her, she reveals a dark story of hers before she actually became one of the icons for the world. Lisa, who was on Vogue BFF chat-show with ace designer Tarun Tahiliani, said that she was body-shamed for being too skinny. She said that she was teased for her size as many considered her skinniness to be as bad as being fat. During the chat, she broke the stigma attached with being fat. She said: “People always think that if you’re on the larger side or you’re overweight, then you become complex. But I think being a really skinny kid makes you quite complex too.”
As hard as it may be to think but she was compared to a toothpick. “I just remember being picked on for being a toothpick. Really skinny and really tall. Eventually, you fill out and then, you tend to not put on weight when you’re older. But, when you’re younger and if you’re really thin, people just make fun of you,” she added. It’s funny how we often forget what we are, who we are in order to get to a place we desire, that too just because it is in fashion. With Lisa speaking against body-shaming, the truth has been revealed that you can be subject to be joked upon for everything – irrespective of your size.
Recently, even Priyanka Chopra opened up about being body-shamed. “I was a skinny, gawky teenager and I had crazy frizzy hair that I didn’t know how to control. People made me feel awkward because I didn’t look like everyone else,” she said.
