I am encouraged that cinema lovers have appreciated ‘Fitoor’: Director Abhishek Kapoor

Abhishek Kapoor's 'Fitoor' might have received a mixed response from critics but the romantic drama has been “appreciated” by cinema lovers for its unique presentation.

Abhishek Kapoor’s “Fitoor” might have received a mixed response from critics but the romantic drama has been “appreciated” by cinema lovers for its unique presentation. The director is “encouraged” with the response.

“Fitoor”, released on February 12, features Aditya Roy Kapur, Katrina Kaif and Tabu in the lead roles.

The film’s dramatic love story and visual opulence has received a thumbs up from movie aficionados, thus taking its opening weekend total to Rs.14.11 crore.

“My aim was to create a memorable movie going experience unique to its world and story. I am truly encouraged that cinema lovers have appreciated it for what it is,” Kapoor said in a statement.

“Fitoor” is based on Charles Dickens’ novel “Great Expectations” and is the love story of a poor boy and a rich girl.

      Lol😂😂 parineeti in lead...I can't imagine..you are surely a hater or senseless guy....fitoor is a gud movie people did notappreciated it cz of confusing climax and lead was aussumm. U should appreciated that instead of criticising. U r not of that level .u can't even say a word when it comes to acting. ..

        FITOOR IS A FLOP..though over marketed as the main lead was dead lifeless and couldn't do justice to anything ..even Parineeti CHOPRA in lead would have done better with power in voice and beauty of Parineeti

          Fitoor was souless with dull performers in main lead ...Only Kashmir and TABU was good no BLAME games it was indeed slow paced .

            Fitoor was a flop cause Indian audience has a lot to evolve to connect with this higher level of cinema. In india only ma movies work this shows that indian audience lacks the maturity. What happened to all the hall-balla of Kat separating with Ranbir, all the news have died down now, guess it was just a gimmick started by Kat's Pro to promote the movie indirectly
