Though the relations between Anees Bazmee and the leading production house Viacom 18 had soured due to a legal controversy post ‘Welcome’, the two have decided to let bygones be bygones, courtesy John Abraham.
The actor played the mediator and now, Bazmee and Viacom 18 have decided to collaborate for a film which will have John Abraham playing the lead.
Talking about the film, Anees mentioned that this was solely John’s initiative to approach the production house, fix a meeting with them, finalize the budget and so on for their next venture. In fact, it seems that they have even started to hunt for locations. About the script, Anees revealed that he had discussed it with John and the actor loved the script so much that he decided to go ahead with it immediately.
Further, Anees also clarified on the alleged problem with the production house and stated though his project with the production house, after ‘Welcome’, failed to take off, there hasn’t been any bad blood with them.
The casting details of this untitled film are yet to be finalized. Moreover, Anees and Viacom 18 are still contemplating on whether the filmmaker will only direct it or will he co-produce the film.
Currently, John Abraham and Anees Bazmee are busy with ‘Welcome Back’ which also stars Shruti Haasan, Nana Patekar, Anil Kapoor, Naseeruddin Shah, and Dimple Kapadia in prominent roles and is produced by Firoz Nadiadwala. ‘Welcome Back’ is slated to release on May 29, 2015.
