Aditi Rao Hydari, who entered the industry as Rama Bua in the 2006 release film ‘Delhi 6’, has done a lot of films since then, but the actress still feels that she hasn’t got a breakthrough in the industry yet. Next to be seen in ‘Wazir’ opposite Farhan Akhtar and megastar Amitabh Bachchan, Aditi hopes this film to take her career a notch higher.

In an interview with The Indian Express.com, Aditi Rao Hydari said, “I need a big success, in fact I feel that I haven’t had a breakthrough film and a breakthrough role. I’ve done good films and roles, and got great critical feedback. Everyone tells me that my potential hasn’t been tapped, but one day I was crying about it and my mother said that’s a good thing if people say that because you have so much more to give, and there is so much more that people can discover and so many more challenges. So, now I look at it as a positive thing.” (Read: Felt like a fan girl in front of Farhan Akhtar: Aditi Rao Hydari)

Having acted in movies like ‘London Pairs New York’, ‘Guddu Rangeela’ and many more, the actress did not shy away from saying that she is still struggling. She said, “I am still struggling, and working very hard to make sure that the next film is one step ahead. But it is hard when you’re not from the industry, you don’t have the power of choice, when you can’t tap your finger and say I want to work with you. But I believe that belief helps. If I keep continuing on this path and keep aiming on quality then I’ll get better and better work.” (Also read: Wonderful: Farhan Akhtar on recording ‘Atrangi Yaari’ with Amitabh Bachchan)

Calling herself an outsider, who doesn’t know about imaging, Friday’s and numbers, she said, “I’ve come from outside, I don’t know about imaging, numbers, Friday’s and how to play the game, what I love is the work and being in front of the camera. Everything else is what I don’t know.”

Aditi Rao Hydari has had her share of great experiences working with Amitabh Bachchan and Farhan Akhtar. She said, “An year ago I was asked who would I like to work with and I said, Farhan Akhtar and then it actually happened. To be with both Farhan and Mr. Bachchan in the same film is quiet epic. A matter of fact that they’re amazing actors, they are also amazing people. They made me feel really comfortable, because off camera I was completely starry eyed and quiet overwhelmed with their presence, but on camera not for a second did I feel intimidated.”

“I give complete credit to them (Farhan Akhtar and Amitabh Bachchan). You know when you’re working with great actors, your performance also becomes better because you have such great energy in front of you,” quipped Aditi.

When asked about what attracted her to the film ‘Wazir’, either the script or the lead actors, she quickly replied, “It was a combination of both actually. It was a very special project with amazing people associated with it. There was Vidhu Vihod Chopra, Rajkumar Hirani, Bejoy Nambiar, somebody who I had always wanted to work with. I didn’t even know who the actors in the movie where, Bejoy only told me later. First and foremost, it was the script which was very gripping, a thriller mystery very well told. Thriller mystery’s are not often made. Plus there was a very strong emotional thread running through the story which in fact is with all the characters.”

When asked if ‘Wazir’, which is one of the big movies of her career will help her bag more projects, she said, “I hope it does, because when you’re not from the industry and you’re not always given the right oppotunity, it is always hard to even get the kind of work that you want. One always hopes, that with every film one would walk one step forward and be that much closer to doing the kind of films that you want to do. I believe that with the kind of films I’v done so far my experiences have been amazing. In terms of weight, Wazir is a very very strong project with everybody who is so established. For me to be a part of it is a big step and hopefully it will help me get the kind of stuff that I want to do and help me work with the kind of directors I want to work with.”

Directed by Bejoy Nambiar, ‘Wazir’ has already gripped everyone with the strong trailer. Starring Farhan Akhtar and Amitabh Bachchan, the film will release on January 7.
