Only a few days ago, Hrithik broke his silence over the ongoing controversy between him and Queen actor Kangana Ranaut. And in his long Facebook post earlier, Hrithik not only made some valid points but for the first time, told the story from his perspective. And after that what followed was a barrage of controversies, statement and reactions from tinsel town.

The who’s who of the industry including Farhan Akhtar, Karan Johar, Yami Gautam among others took to social media supporting their friend and sharing their views. But now, to put things to rest, Hrithik has put out another statement requesting his colleagues, friends and relatives to let the matter be and not take sides.

The Kaabil actor straightaway asks people not to support him. He says that this is an unfortunate incident and not a ‘contest of sorts’ and hence people should stop picking sides. Moreover, he also adds that this doesn’t mean that he wants to close the case but he just wants that it is handled by legal proceedings and not by the society or the media. Hrithik also quips that he is afraid that this matter could quickly become one about ‘man vs woman, insider vs outsider, privileged vs non privileged’ and that is not something he prefers.

Here is Hrithik’s entire statement:

I am writing this in response to the several interview requests that I am getting from various media houses. I have given two. Due to the media dynamics of our times there is a justified pressure on me to give more.

Print. Digital. Various other languages. Platforms that will give me much much wider reach.

I would apologise to those who have made these well meaning requests and would humbly say that I don’t wish to speak on this issue. I have had to give out my side of truth under some very compelling circumstances.

In the interest of civility and human dignity we should not make a spectacle of this issue. Media is an integral part of our civil society and they would know that continued discourse on this issue is gaining toxic dimensions.

I am no one to suggest what media should cover or not but if this under investigation case is factually covered through the developments of police investigation and courts, that would be a breather for a lot of us.

I am extremely thankful to people who have supported me in this painfully unfortunate episode. But my request to all friends and observers would be to stop taking sides in this issue. This is an unfortunate issue and not a contest of sorts. Before this is dangerously hijacked into a man vs woman, insider vs outsider, privileged vs non privileged issue we must stop. Please don’t support me. Don’t take sides.

I am by no means seeking to close this issue. The only thing I am suggesting is to let the investigations be the only spokesperson in this issue henceforth.

Comm'on give it a break. I too am a woman but that doesn't mean that every woman would take advantage of her gender and flasely implicate a guy based on flase allegations. Yes, men should respect women but the opposite should also take place to maintain the balance in the society. As far as Hrithik is concerned, he is behaving like a true gentleman and Kangana has always been part of issues not b'coz she is from outside but b'coz she feels that she is above the rest. Why didn't she submit her gadgets for forensic investigations? Hrithik did and it was verified by TAL Secure Systems and submitted to Mumbai Police. Think before you speak.

Indian media is garbage. Most are PR people than real journalists. They should be shot first before bollywood spammers. HR-KR issue should have been resolved privately, unless there are public issues involved in it like domestic violence, gender, criminal acts in film industry...
