British actress Bonnie Wright best known for her role as Ginny Weasley in the Harry Potter series won the “role auction” for Pooja Bhatt’s production by a wide margin. The auction was organised by the Scottish Circle and held on May 23.

Author J.K Rowling has named Bonnie as one of her favourite actors from the Harry Potter series.

Bonnie,we hear, jumped into the auction ring as the proceeds would help the cause of violence against women. She now has the choice of being in either of the two Pooja Bhatt productions Cabaret or Bad.

If she chooses Cabaret,Bonnie would be part of a spectacular song and dance number. If she opts to be in the Charles Sobhraj bio-pic Bad,starring Randeep Hooda,Bonnie would have a speaking part.

Confirming the ‘Wright’ choice,Pooja Bhatt says,”Poonam Gupta who initiated the role auction on behalf of the Scottish Circle called to say Bonnie Wright not only out-bid everyone, but also wished to pay double,as she wants a part for her brother (actor Lewis Wright) as well!”

This is obviously the Harry Potter charmer’s method of pitching in for the women’s cause. Says Pooja,”I am truly moved by Bonnie’s gesture and I applaud her spirit.”
