From a shy, demure girl in her Bollywood debut ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’ to a fiesty young girl in her debut production venture ‘NH10’, young and vivacious Anushka Sharma, who turned 27 today, has come a long way.
The actress’ Facebook page posted a childhood picture of hers that shows baby Anushka cutting her birthday cake.
Anushka has proved her potential as an actress in each of her films she has been a part of ever since she started her career in 2008. She has till now played assorted characters in the nine movies she has featured in, proving that she is in the Hindi film industry for a long haul.
The daughter of an army officer, Anushka Sharma would now be seen playing character of a 1960s jazz singer in ‘Bombay Velvet’ opposite Ranbir Kapoor and actor-filmmaker Karan Johar. Directed by Anurag Kashyap, ‘Bombay Velvet’ is a big screen adaptation of Gyan Prakash’s “Mumbai Fables” and is slated to hit the theatres on May 15.

The bubbly actress will also be seen in Zoya Akthar’s ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’, which also features Ranveer Singh, Farhan Akhtar, Priyanka Chopra, Anil Kapoor and shefali Shah. The movie is slated to hit the theatres on June 5. Her ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’ co-star Priyanka Chopra also took to twitter to wish the actress.
Veteran actress Shabana Azmi also took to micro-blogging website Twitter to wish Anushka. “Dear dear Anushka Sharma wish you a very happy birthday and more power to your fiesty spirit! Lots of love.”
