Shot mainly in Dubai, the film tells the tale of six losers who come up with an elaborate plan to rob a bank as well as participate in one of the biggest professional dance competitions.
Said to be the first heist-cum-dance film, ‘Happy New Year’ boasts not only of a stellar cast but promises to have everything that a Bollywood flick is supposed to – drama, romance, dance, song and crime.

The cast have not only had an absolute ball shooting for the film, but left no stone unturned when it came to promoting it as well, both in India as well as abroad. They went on a special tour to America, where they performed in concert for their beloved fans.
The entire cast was thrilled when the film passed with a ‘U’ certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). “I always keep this in mind even when I’m writing or bringing my writing material to the celluloid. This Diwali, I, as a director, bring this family wholesome entertainer and I hope that ‘Happy New Year’ will make this a Happy Diwali for every family,” said director Farah Khan.
Expectations are sky high from ‘Happy New Year’, which will see Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone romance each other for the third time onscreen. Will they be lucky once more?
