We have seen Alia Bhatt intrigued, worried, disgusted and very, very angry in Dear Zindagi. But finally, Dear Zindagi gives us an Alia who is happy and a little bit in love. We are talking about Dear Zindagi’s new song Tu Hi Hai. The song is dreamy, hummable and very old world.
The lyrics will take you to a different era, so much more romantic that our ethos of Love. Breakup. Repeat. It shows Alia going on series of dates, with Kunal Kapoor kind of towering over other men in the frame. Given the theme of the film, it seems Kunal is going to be the big love and big heartbreak for Alia’s character Kaira.
But the song itself is Alia’s. The camera — just like us — is in love with her face. Alia rules as she captures those small but important moments from a girl’s life. The ‘me’ time, the time spent with friends and that heady, heady feeling of falling in love. Alia captures all of it with finesse.
And then, there is Shah Rukh Khan. He comes in the last few scenes of the songs but leaves a lasting impression.

The 23-year-old actor, who is busy with film’s promotions, shared the song on her Twitter handle and wrote alongside, “Trying to touch the chords of your heart. Do you think he is the one? Catch our next song #TuHiHai”

Tu Hi Hai is the third single from Dear Zindagi and is all about falling in love. Given the theme of the song, Arijit Singh — obviously — has rendered the song in his deep and silky voice. It has been composed by Amit Trivedi and beautifully penned by Kausar Munir.
