Women-centric films seem to be the flavour of this year. Neerja, Highway, Pink and now Dear Zindagi have given the audience some of the most memorable performances this year by its female leads. What sets apart these characters is how beautifully they are etched. You can’t stop but delve into their worries and problems. All these films have a vast wealth of emotional depth that one rarely sees in normal action-oriented films.

When Komal Nahta, during a TV interview, asked Gauri Shinde if making a woman-centric film was a conscious decision, Gauri said, ” It wasn’t a conscious decision. But then why not make films about women. I enjoy working with women. There are already so many movies about men. Also, any young person irrespective of his or her gender can relate to the movie.”

Gauri also said that she was keen to have Shah Rukh Khan in the role of Jehangir Khan. When asked what made Gauri choose Alia for the role, the director says, ” I saw her cry her heart out in a scene in Highway. She was just magical in the film. ” When Alia was asked if she wanted to work with Gauri, the actor said, ” I watched English Vinglish in theatres with my friends. And I told my friend that I want to work with Gauri Shinde one day.”

Meanwhile, Karan Johar, co-producer is happy with the response. Karan shared, ” Abundant love for this gorgeous trio!!!! @gauris @aliaa08 @iamsrk…..brave….beautiful and brilliant…. heartfelt gratitude to all of you.”

Ha ha, in the morning it was 20 crores worldwide collection and suddenly it has become 20 crore domestic collection. Media trying to suport SRK but film is a serious flop. Most probably will not cover its low budget.

Demonetization effect !!!! Suddenly SRK movie is making only 8.75 crores on opening day in comparison to previous 25-40 crores openings. Seems he will not receive funds from stan to convert fake currency into white
