Dear Zindagi is being appreciated for its novelty by the audience. Many films fail to do what Dear Zindagi did so cleverly and that is adding the stardom of Shah Rukh Khan to a coming-of-age movie. The film, which is co-produced by Gauri Khan, Karan Johar and SRK, collected Rs 8.75 crore on Friday and followed it up with Rs 11.25 crore on Saturday. This brings the total earning of Alia Bhatt and Shah Rukh Khan film to Rs 20 crore. The film is expected to do well during this weekend.

Dear Zindagi is a comparatively low-budget film with its total cost coming to Rs 22 crore and about Rs 10 crore being spent on promotions. The film would be able to break even in its first weekend itself.

The film has been garnering praise from celebs and audience alike. While Alia’s father, filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt, said he was staggered by her performance, Salman Khan and Hrithik Roshan also took to Twitter to write about the film.
The audience has praised the performance of Alia Bhatt who portrays Kaira – an independent woman. Kaira’s endeavour to find stability in her relationships is endearing. Most young women could relate to the character of Kiara. This is the second stellar performance by Alia after garnering rave reviews for Udta Punjab. Shah Rukh Khan has earlier said that he is playing an extended cameo in Dear Zindagi.
