Befikre starring Ranveer Singh and Vaani Kapoor has collected a robust Rs 21.96 crores in two days. The film collected Rs 11.60 crores on its second say since its release. Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, ”  #Befikre has limited growth on Sat… Sun crucial… Fri 10.36 cr, Sat 11.60 cr. Total: ₹ 21.96 cr [2100 screens]. India biz.”

Befikre starring Ranveer Singh and Vaani Kapoor earlier collected Rs 10.36 crore on Friday (December 9). Directed by Aditya Chopra, Befikre is a romantic comedy and sees Ranveer Singh parting away from his recent hefty roles in movies lie Bajirao Mastani. The songs of the film have already become popular amongst the audience. And people are also liking Ranveer’s new avatar. Befikre is also Vaani Kapoor’s latest film after a long gap. She earlier worked in her debut Shudh Desi Romance co-starring Parineeti Chopra and Sushant Singh Rajput.

Befikre released over 2900 screens worldwide. Made on a modest budget of Rs 70 crores, Befikre can very well have an impressive weekend collection. It will be interesting to see if demonetisation affects the film’s box office collection. Dear Zindagi is the only film to have earned a profit after demonetisation.

Meanwhile, Ranveer Singh is happy to play the role of Dharam in Befikre. “It (Befikre) has got nothing to do with the film (No Strings Attached). It is purely an original content written by Aditya Chopra. There is a dearth of original scripts in Indian cinema and I am proud to say this is definitely written from the heart and soul of Adi Chopra,” Ranveer said in an interview with indianexpress.com.

“In Indian cinema, romcom doesn’t stay romcom. By the end of the interval, there is a twist which would decide the flow of the second half. After a while, people will be dealing with heavy emotions and drama. Befikre is true to the genre. Our attempt with this film is to present the true romantic Hindi comedy, which brings freshness,” Ranveer added.
