Amitabh Bachchan is colouring India the colour Pink a day before his movie’s release. He recently he penned a letter to granddaughters Aaradhya Bachchan and Navya Naveli Nanda to follow their heart and the actor is now a part of an Unblushed video which gives us snippets of everyday statements that a modern Indian woman has to live with. The video voices every compromise a woman makes staying silent when faced by unreal, unjustified expectations. It gives a voice to women’s silence.
As Big B’s baritone voices these statements, you cannot stay unaffected…
”Bhaiya iss sunsaan gali se nahi, long cut se lijiye.”
”One more year of work, then marriage and settle down. Tu bata kya chal raha hai?”
”Haan media se hu, sungle hu lekin aapko koi problem nahi hogi, no loud music, no late nights aur rent bhi hamesha time par doongi.”
”You will wear a red lipstick to the meeting, are you mad?”
”I know you and Arvind are both VPs now but the salary structure can’t change. It is HR policy, I hope you understand.”
”Abhi hasle yaar, kal se to tu apni biwi ke shopping bags hi uthayega.”
”Everyone is staring, jeans hi pehen li hoti yaar.”
”Samjhao kuch isse, ab bacchi nahi rahi hai, ladko wali harkate chhod kuch ladkiyon wale kaam kaaj seekhe.”
#AbSamjhautaNahin shows the effect these compromises have on a woman, her choices and her decisions. From gender stereotyping to body shaming and moral policing, the Unblushed video tackles it all.

In this Blush and Pink association, Amitabh Bachchan is a ventriloquist — the voice of our society. This voice also comes back in the end to show us a mirror and to reveal the hard hitting reality.
