Amitabh Bachchan ambiguous on Supreme Court’s verdict on gay rights

Bollywood celebrities like Aamir Khan and Celina Jaitley expressed their shock on Supreme Court’s verdict on gay right,but megastar Amitabh Bachchan remained ambiguous on the subject.

Big B wrote on his blog: And then there is a huge debate and discussion on the latest Supreme Court judgement on homosexuality !! Some very strong views being expressed,hurt anger and disbelief by some,applause and commendation by others.

The Supreme Court has passed judgement that homosexuality is a crime .. and that has triggered a massive reaction among those that have till now had the preference of choice,as per human rights,to lead their life the way they wish to .. I wonder where this shall lead to ..

Amitabh Bachchan also tweeted on the subject: High Court in 2009 gave pro judgement on homosexuality. All rejoiced came out got known. Now they fear being identified as criminals.

Some very strong views and emotions being expressed on media platforms about this latest Supreme Court judgement !! But … on the news the Supreme Court rules homosexuality as a crime in India !! Lots of shocked reactions from across the board !

Amitabh Bachchan also questioned that: How will the law authorities decide or apprehend those that commit this ‘crime’ !!??

In a blow to gay rights activists,the Supreme Court on Wednesday had upheld the constitutional validity of the penal provision making gay sex an offence punishable with upto life imprisonment.

A bench of justices G S Singhvi and S J Mukhopadhaya set aside the Delhi High Court’s verdict which had in 2009 decriminalised gay sex among consenting adults in private.
