Contrary to the Box Office verdict, ‘Holiday’, did not receive good reviews. The Indian Express, reviewer Shubhra Gupta said, “‘Holiday’ gives Akshay Kumar a chance to return to full combat mode. Till he’s going bang bang, he’s all right; the moment he gets romancing and joshing, he slides. So does the film.”

The film is the official remake of Tamil film ‘Thupakki’ and is directed by A R Murugadoss.

Holiday - Dedicated to Indian ArmyI am very thankful to Murgadoss who made such Brilliant film as well interesting topic and different plot. And Akshay kumar deserve yet another blockbuster film.u proved ur Real superstar. Murgadoss' film (remake of the Tamil 'Thupakki') offers an intelligent plot, with blows, blasts and raw bone-cracking action (Greg Powell- of 'Skyfall' fame). It triggers a fear that anyone from your paanwala to pizza-delivery boy could be a 'closet' terrorist (Beware!). While the core plot is compelling and finely directed, the side-tracks - like bombs needing to be deactivated and the romantic angle, waste screen-time and the songs infiltrate the plot too often. Last song of movie is heart touching Ashq na ho.Must watch if you love indian army

A brilliant film. And Superstar Akshay Kumar is in his element in an intelligent, fast paced action thriller. Holiday is a Blockbuster of a cinema andis by most critics like Taran Adarsh, Subash K. Jha, Omar Qureshi, Komal Nahata, etc.
