Ae Dil Hai Mushkil release: Mukesh Bhatt said that a delegation of film industry representatives have been assured by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh that they will have a happy Diwali.

After days of uncertainty over the release of Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, the Bollywood fraternity has been promised a “great Diwali” by Union home minister Rajnath Singh with a safe and secure release of the film. Mukesh Bhatt, President of the Film and Television Producers Guild of India, on Thursday met Singh who assured a safe release of the film on October 28 — two days before the festival of lights. Johar skipped the meeting as he is busy with the post-production of the film in Mumbai, sources added.

Bhatt, along with singer-politician Babul Supriyo, met Singh to appeal for security amid vandalism threats from the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), which is against the movie’s release as it features Pakistani actor Fawad Khan. “We are entertainers. We are interested in working with artistes, and not whether they belong to Pakistan, China or Africa,” Bhatt told the media after meeting Singh. MNS had refused to change its stance despite Johar saying in a video message that he will not work with talent from Pakistan in the future.

As the head honcho of the producers’ guild, Bhatt had earlier met a Mumbai police representative to appeal for police protection to ensure that the city’s theatres which will screen Ae Dil Hai Mushkil remain safe. Asked if they didn’t have full faith in the Mumbai Police, he said: “I will give them 200 per cent marks to Mumbai police. But the film isn’t releasing just in Mumbai. We want to safeguard ourselves, so who better than the home minister? It is his domain.”

Before his meeting with Singh, Bhatt said that it is, as a citizen, that he feels it’s his “right to feel safe”. “We want to celebrate Diwali. We want to get entertained with a good family entertainer film. I feel that the state is definitely going to give me support and protection against people who want to create violence for no reason,” he said.

Bhatt also said people are free to see the movie. “India is a free country, but at least you should not stop people and then stop people violently. That is something I feel that the government of today should have zero tolerance towards, violence.”

Ae Dil Hai Mushkil has become the first target of those who are against inclusion of Pakistani artistes in Indian films after the September 18 Uri attack which killed 19 Indian soldiers in Jammu and Kashmir. The attack was followed by surgical attacks that India conducted across LoC.

The subsequent bilateral unrest between India and Pakistan had a spill over in film industries on both sides of the border. While the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) issued an ultimatum to Pakistani artistes to quit India, the Indian Motion Picture Producers Association passed a resolution asking producers to avoid working with talent from Pakistan.

Then, the Cinema Owners and Exhibitors Association of India announced single screen theatres in Maharashtra, Goa and Gujarat won’t screen Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. MNS has been open about condemning the idea of releasing of the movie.

You people have gone mad, forgotten whats right and wrong, squabbling and quralleing with each other for no reason. Ultimately the country is going to burn and all of us also. Its high time people realise what actually is required to build a nation rather than fighting on non issues.

On this point we dont agree with HM. He shd have impressed upon Karan n gang to help in opposing terror from Pak and make appeals in the movie to denounce Pak for the terror act. We dont want Pak here n thats not changed. If Karan wants to run movies with police protection, why shd we go to such a movie. Let him see in his bedroom if he is so scared. lt;br/gt;Boycott ADHM. I agree with MNS

We are a democratic country and no single party can decide a ban on movie or actors. BUT we the people have every right to decide what to watch and what NOT to watch. Let's impose a self ban and NOT to watch stani actors movies till cross border terrorism is stopped.

If Indian Govt issues visa, who is this extra-consutional authority MNS to deny anyone entry to this country including stanis? Is the visa issues by Indian Govt a joke? Please answer these questions.

BJP has killed many birds with one stone. Government will stand b y KJO to release his film and there b y has killed MNS. Has killed KJO as he shall be under their obligation. Has also drawn urance from KJO that he shall never seek stani actors. Thus salman is killed, Mahesh Bhatt is obliterated, PC (Priyank Chopra or stan-China) is side tracked, Anupam Kashyap or that whatever shrub who wanted apology from Modi is toppled and MNS will be happy that hereafter there shall not be any stani actors in Bollywood hereafter. This is called shrewdness and those congress chameleons are now bereft of this issue which they wanted to baloon.

We should respect the art but if any actor did any thing wrong or speak any thing about the nation then the people will see him.

Such is the atmosphere in the country that both the right-wing groups thrive and rally supporters by preaching hatred against each other. Both behave in ways that give their rival a motive to get into heinous acts. The shriller the right-wing gets, the easier it is for the rivals to garner more supporters ready for terror. Just as the Mandir agitation gave birth to counter attacks in cities, Gujarat riots gave birth to Kasabs. Why can't this principle of opposite and equal reaction be understood by us? Don't both BJP and RSS agree on spewing poison, alienating communities so that even existing India is not akhand at least in the minds of people? Don't both remind all of us about our religious/caste idenies? Don't both BJP and RSS always desire communal polarisation? Don't both like riots and rioutous situations? Aren't they on the same page on making Hindus become laughing stocks by claiming Indians, not Wright Brothers, invented aeroplane? Don't both frequently remind us about 1000 yrs of gulami and thereby tell people India was never safe when Hindus ruled as is proven even now by frequent, daily attacks on the border? Don't both BJP and RSS know well they grow well only when communal tension and social unrest are the order of the day as are now? Don't both BJP and RSS teach our children that India's freedom was won by Sonus, Chotus, Kalus, Nanajis, Balus, Gopus etc. Don't they act in unison to make people, who were not even back-benchers and water-boys of Indian freedom movement, heroes?

If this film produce by a Muslim Name, Rajnath will allow to suffer huge loss. BJP always do like this, since it is from KARAN JOHAR.

MNS is a selfless political outfit for the protection of Hindu ideny and dignity. Their nature of protest and confrontation with the crony capitalist without any fear is an ideal method of democratic mobilization. Even Karim Jahir and its film fraternity with their money power can lobby the authority to have safe release of the film. So, such selfish film fraternity doesn't honour the dignity of 20 martyrs just for their money minded motive.
