All that actors want from their fans is support for their newly released films. But Ranbir Kapoor’s ideas are different. Given the variety he shows in his acting, even the demands he makes of his audience are unique and interesting. So the heartthrob of Bollywood was in New Delhi to promote his movie Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, which released on Friday (October 28). He was accompanied by his very beautiful co-star Anushka Sharma. Ae Dil Hai Mushkil opened alongside Ajay Devgn’s Shivaay, giving us one of the biggest box office clashes of the year. ADHM has been directed by Karan Johar and also stars Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Fawad Khan.
Ranbir and Anushka are on a tour to promote ADHM in north India. After giving a surprise to the audience at a Chandigarh theater, the duo flew to Delhi late on Friday. They interacted with the fans while wishing them a happy Diwali. Ranbir said, “Today our film released so we thought we’ll come and take some love from you guys and give some love. Thank you so much that you guys are here.”
But what left the audience smiling was when Ranbir acknowledged the section of the audience which might not like the film. “I hope that you guys like the film. And those who don’t like the film, please don’t tell this to anyone. Just say it’s good. You can tell them it’s not good after Wednesday or Thursday,” Ranbir said.
When asked why the two keep coming back to Delhi, Anushka was quick to say, “Today, we were talking about exactly this. We have worked a lot in Delhi. We have shot so many films here. We miss the winters of Delhi a lot because we don’t have that. Mumbai is a very hot city. Delhi has proper winters. So we enjoy shooting over here, a lot. And the food is obviously amazing.”
Ranbir, who has shot Imtiaz Ali’s Rockstar and Tamasha in Delhi, added, “When you shoot with Imtiaz Ali, he takes you to every corner of the place because he knows where the heart of Delhi lies, where to get authentic food, be it Paranthewali Gali or kebabs or the nihari outside Nizamuddin, I’ve tried everything.”
So why should the audience watch Ae Dil Hai Mushkil? “Because it is a damn good film,” Anushka signed off!
