Ae Dil Hai Mushkil starring Ranbir Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Anushka Sharma is inching closer to its release and facing new rumours every day. The latest is that censor board has cut three ‘intimate’ scenes from the film despite director Karan Johar’s protests.
According to the rumours, the scenes which have been chopped have Ranbir Kapoor and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in close proximity. However, Dharma has denied the news and said the film has been passed without any cut, intimate or otherwise. A reliable source from Dharma Productions has slashed every rumour saying that no changes are being made in the film. “There are no cuts being made to the film. No changes of any sort, as being reported. The film will release on October 28,” said the source.
Earlier, there was speculation that Karan Johar might tweak the scenes featuring Pakistani actor Fawad Khan or might replace him with Saif Ali Khan after the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) threatened to stop the release of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil in Maharashtra in the aftermath of Uri attack. However, the source confirmed that this is not the case. “Fawad is not being replaced,” the source said.
The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) issued fresh threats on Monday (October 10) to filmmakers Karan Johar and Mahesh Bhatt, saying that they would beat them up if they continue to work with Pakistani artists. Earlier the party had demanded that Johar should Fawad Khan’s scenes from the film.

MNS party, following the Uri attack that killed 19 Indian soldiers, issued an ultimatum to Pakistani artistes to leave the country and threatened they won’t let any Bollywood films with Pakistani actors release. Following that, the Indian Motion Picture Producers Association passed a resolution to avoid working with Pakistani artistes until bilateral tensions between the two countries subside.
Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, which stars Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the lead roles and Fawad Khan in a pivotal role, is just two weeks away from its release. The film, which releases on Diwali, October 28 this year, faces a box-office clash with Shivaay starring Ajay Devgn.
