is still facing its share of controversies (we mean the one over Mohammad Rafi dialogue) but it seems that it has not stopped the audience from thronging the theatres. The film is already a hit and with another weekend coming up, the Ranbir Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Anushka Sharma movie is looking at Rs 100 crore business.

“#ADHM Fri 13.30 cr, Sat 13.10 cr, Sun 9.20 cr, Mon 17.75 cr, Tue 13.03 cr, Wed 7.63 cr, Thu 6.18 cr. Total: ₹ 80.19 cr. India biz,” he wrote on Twitter.

“#ADHM – OVERSEAS – Week 1: $ 8.2 million [₹ 54.71 cr]. SECOND HIGHEST *Week 1* after #Sultan… Hindi films – 2016,” he added.

The film’s worldwide collection has already crossed Rs 100 crore but as trade primarily takes into account domestic net earning, this is one hurdle ADHM is yet to cross. If all goes well, this weekend will see the film quite close to achieving this target.

According to film’s producer Fox Star Studios, the cost of production (inclusive of marketing and distribution) was Rs 100 crore. The revenue recovered — from the sale of music, satellite and digital rights — was Rs 75 crore.

The film may live with its continued success for a long time as there are no major releases this week. Rock On 2!! will hit the theatres a little later in November.

Meanwhile, Shivaay which released alongside Ae Dil Hai Mushkil is not far behind in the race.

The Ajay Devgn starrer film seems to be the only competition for Karan Johar for now.
