Karan Johar’s romantic drama Ae Dil Hai Mushkil seems to have become the flavour of the season. The film saw 28.29% jump in its week 2, since it released last weekend. Karan Johar’s film has now collected Rs 97.15 cr bringing it close to the 100-crore mark. This is also Ranbir Kapoor’s latest hit after a string of flops including Besharam and Bombay Velvet.

 

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared,” [Week 2] Fri 4.56 cr, Sat 5.85 cr, Sun 6.55 cr. Total: ₹ 97.15 cr. India biz… OVERSEAS: $ 10.2 million [₹ 68.07 cr].”

Meanwhile, director Karan Johar has indirectly taken a dig at filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra and singer Sonu Nigam for their recent remarks on Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, by calling them “irresponsible” and “self-important”.

Johar, 44, lashed out on Twitter following the backlash for Anushka Sharma’s dialogue in his film, where the actress says, “Mohammad Rafi? Woh gaate kam rote zyada the na?” Karan tweeted, “Filmmakers making irresponsible remarks at events.. Singers reveling in self importance… Press releases sent to mask insecurities! Ufff…,” Sonu, 43, also took to the micro-blogging site and gave a quick response to Johar by tweeting, “So it’s all about loving your family, and disrespecting others’!! And this is not revelling in Self Importance. UFFFFFFF…”

The singer had supported Rafi’s son Shahid, who slammed Johar for disrespecting the late legend in his film, saying, “If you can listen to the same joke about your parents then we are wrong.”
