Actor-singer Nisha Rawal has thrashed the elimination process of Bigg Boss, saying that her husband Karan Mehra’s ouster from the controversial celebrity show was not fair. She feels he was leading in the number of votes.
Nisha said that while officially the makers said the eviction process was based only on public voting but she later learned that it was 50 per cent content provided by the contestant on the show and 50 per cent votes. The actor said this is unfair to the fans, who vote in large numbers to save their favourites.
“I was shocked when Karan was evicted because he had the maximum number of votes. He has such a huge fan following so, I didn’t understand how he lost to others. Then, I read that unofficially they count 50 per cent content and rest half voting. This is unfair to all the people, who voted for him. There are so many young fans, who must have used their pocket money to vote for him, So, if you say officially that only votes will be counted then that’s wrong,” Nisha spoke during an exclusive chat with indianexpress.com.
While Nisha is happy with Karan’s “dignified” conduct on the show, she feels the makers are only interested in showing fights and promoting contestants, who create controversies.
“I used to watch the live feed and read other updates of Bigg Boss. I saw that Karan used to do so much, like doing household chores and having interesting conversations with other housemates. There were some really nice moments of his on the show, like once he repaired Manu’s (Punjabi) doll and then he had a sweet moment with Lokesh (Kumari). But nothing was shown. Then he used to be called boring. So, I think they just want to show fights and contestants shouting and screaming,” she said.
“There are contestants who are rude to the elders in the house, they are ready to hit them and then next moment they all become friends. Only they are shown. I think even the makers are confused what they want to show,” Nisha added.
The brighter side of the Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai star is that he gets to be with Nisha on their fourth wedding anniversary, which is on November 24. To mark the special occasion, Nisha has recorded a cover of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil title track, which she will be launching tonight.
“This one is very personal. I had actually thought I would send him this song in the Bigg Boss house. I had spoken to the channel too. But now he is with me, so, I thought it will be nice to launch the single amid friends from the industry. The video has our memories and shows what I feel for him. It’s about Karan, it’s not about me,” Nisha said.
