The AAP dispensation will launch a ‘parents workshop’ for guardians of students studying at Delhi government schools. The workshop will aim to sensitise parents on the need for a stressful environment required for for students who are appearing for board examinations.
“The involvement of parents in the education of children makes a significant difference to their performance. The workshops are aimed at working with parents to help create the right kind of environment for children even at their homes,” said Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia.
The workshops will be held from November 15 in government-run schools across the city. The workshops are not mandatory and parents’ involvement and participation is entirely voluntary.
“Parents will also be sensitised on how to play a supportive role with children to reduce their stress,” said Sisodia.
A full fledged programme for parents will be launched in January 2018, according to a statement by the Delhi government. These workshops will be initially conducted only for parents of students in classes 10 and 12 at government schools in the city.
