The Tamil Nadu Open University (TNOU) (School of Education) has begun the application process for admission to its B.Ed courses. Interested students can download the form from the official website of the university, tnou.ac.in, to apply.

Important dates:

Start of application procedure: September 8, 2016

Last date of issue of prospectus and application form: October 13, 2016 (till 5 pm)

Last date to submit filled-in application form to university office: October 14, 2016 (till 5:30 pm)

Release of admission results: October 27, 2016

Start of counselling session: November, 2016

Application fee: Rs 500

The fee is to be paid through a demand draft drawn in favour of “Tamil Nadu Open University” payable at Chennai.

According to the official website of the varsity, candidates are required to write the following in the given format on the back of the demand draft slip:

Name of the applicant :

Programme : B.Ed.

Address with Phone No. :

How to apply:

Download form from TNOU website, fill the form and submit the filledin form at the university office. The university has released the form online along with the prospectus.

Send the filled-in form to: “The Controller of Examinations, Admission Division, Tamil Nadu Open University, No. 577, Anna Salai, Saidapet, Chennai – 600 015.”

Eligibility criteria:

Candidates should meet at least one of the following criteria-

A UG degree certificate in either the 11+1+3 format or the 10+2+3 format.

Trained In-service teachers with D.T.Ed. in any Government recognised school within Tamil Nadu state

The candidates who have completed a NCTE recognised teacher education programme through face-to-face mode

The official website of the university declares that any application form submitted without the demand fraft attached will be rejected.
