The Punjab education department Tuesday declared the result for the recruitment of 4,500 ETT teachers. The Education Minister Daljit Singh Cheema said the education department had recruited more than 65,000 teachers in the past nine years whereas the procedure to recruit 16,000 teachers of different cadres was under process. The result declared today regarding recruitment of 4,500 ETT cadre teachers is part of this process.
He said the advertisement regarding 2005 more posts of ETT teachers has been issued and with the completion of the said recruitment, no primary school in the state would be sans even a single post of teacher vacant by March 31, 2017.
Cheema added the selected candidates have been instructed to give their option from August 24 to 26 for online selection of districts. The districts would be allotted as per merit to the candidates. Following this, the candidates would be allotted stations in accordance to their merit.
Cheema also said the recruitment process for 6,000 master cadre teachers is underway. The list of selected candidates has been uploaded on website – educationrecruitmentboard.com. The names of candidates whose result has been withheld owing to non-submission of some documents or pending cases in the courts have also been uploaded on the website. Cheema informed the candidates whose result has been withheld have been asked to report to the education recruitment directorate till September 15, 2016 with requisite documents.
