PSUs make a comeback to IIT placements after 2 years

PSUs are making a comeback to IIT campuses two years after a Madras High Court banned them from recruiting students from IITs.

With the placement season set to begin in just two weeks, Indian Institutes of Technology are seeing a rush from the PSUs and companies from the core sectors of engineering. At IIT Bombay, more than 300 companies have registered for placements so far, including six PSUs while four of the 263 companies registered at IIT Madras were PSUs.

IIT Roorkee’s Placement Manager Himanshu Bansal told The Indian Express that five PSUs, including ONGC had registered so far. “We are in touch with many PSUs who have shown interest for campus hiring and would be registering with us soon,” he said.
