The Panjab University (PU) has invited applications for BA (Honours) in Economics for academic session of 2016-17.
The course is as per the choice-based credit system and the syllabi will largely conform to the UGC template.
The University has the distinction of running five-year integrated programmes (Honours) in Science subjects as well as Economics for the past several decades.
Chairperson, Department of Economics, Professor Upinder Sawhney said that the students, who have passed Class 12 examination under the 10+2+3 system of education conducted by a recognized Board /University/ Council with at least 60 per cent (55 per cent in case of SC/ST candidates) marks would be eligible for the course.
Given the quantitative requirements of the programme, only students who have had passed in Mathematics are eligible for admission.
However, students admitted to the five-year integrated programme (BA and MA Hons in Economics) up to the 2015-16 session, shall continue to pursue the course as per the previous syllabi offered by the department.
