Jammu & Kashmir government waives off school fee for girls

The step comes as a fulfilment of the announcement in the budget of PDP-BJP government this year.

With an aim to provide free education to all girls, the Jammu and Kashmir government today ordered waiving off their school fees in the state-run educational institutions upto higher-secondary level.

“In order to encourage enrolment of the girl students in the schools and to further incentivise their education, sanction is hereby accorded to waive off school fee charged from the girl students in the state-run educational institutions upto higher secondary level with immediate effect,” an order issued by Commissioner Secretary of Education Department, Shaleen Kabra said here.

The step comes as a fulfilment of the announcement in the budget of PDP-BJP government this year.
