Confusion over the three-language formula has parents in a fix, with unverified circulars being floated and schools jumping the gun to implement a policy that is still at the stage of deliberations. The Delhi Public School, Mathura Road, issued a circular saying that Class VI students will not be able to continue studying foreign languages under the new three-language formula. It also said that the school was offering Sanskrit and Urdu as the two Indian languages. The school was later forced to withdraw the circular.

According to officials at CBSE, there are several fake circulars and incorrect information that has been doing the rounds over the past few weeks.

“CBSE has not issued any guideline on the issue so far as the matter is still pending with the ministry. Details of how the three-language formula will be implemented will be disclosed once the ministry takes a final decision,” said a CBSE official.

Under the National Education Policy, the three-language formula means students in Hindi-speaking states should learn a modern Indian language, apart from Hindi and English and, in non-Hindi-speaking states, they should learn Hindi along with the regional language and English.

However, a majority of the 18,000 affiliated institutions offer the mother tongue or Hindi, English and a foreign language such as German and Mandarin up to Class VIII.

All CBSE schools will now not only have to implement the three-language formula in letter and spirit, but also extend it up to Class X.

HRD minister Prakash Javadekar said last year that no particular language would be imposed on schools affiliated to the CBSE.

“I have not gone through the Board’s (CBSE’s) recommendation in detail, but we are not going to impose any language on schools. The three-language formula is currently being implemented across the country, except in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. We are not changing that.”

Its very immature decision by the government...students now in VII are pressurized so much by this new rule..having studied a foreign language for 2 years & now you ask them to study 2 new indian languages..Its surely not done. Schools are still under confusion. If they had to bring this rule, they could have done it for students from cl V who are opting for a language & not mid way...a bunch of fools we have as decision makers who do not understand the plight of students..

The current practice of English, regional language and Hindi in non- Hindi speaking states and English, Hindi and another regional language in Hindi speaking states i.e., Three language formula, is working well and is desirable to perpetuate, Why exemption to Tamil nadu ? Are they not Indians? Such fissiparous tendencies need to be curbed forthwith with iron hand, Otherwise the country goes to dogs. Of course as ured by the founding fathers of the Consution, English should continue be the Official language so long the people of non-hindi speaking states desire. Hindi should never be imposed and after all, it is one of the 13 or 14 national languages.

why 3 languages ? is there any advantage ? normally a country students should learn a international language and a country language as must , means english and india . If it makes to love each state language must , means each state studetns love only them , like tamilans get tamil spirity , kerala get malayalee spirit and kannada students get kannada spirit . It only makes division of states and students . Let all students be as indian with country language hindi must and international lnagauge english must to compete worldly to represent india . I think this 3 language formula not only makes problems but also it reduces indian spirit and increase each state their own state love rather than country

Imposition of that stani Islamic origin language Hindi must be stopped. Islamic language Hindi imposition is nothing but clear conspiracy too Islamize India. Dravida parties are planning the elimination of Tamil out of India which is why they are silent when the stani language Hindi is imposed in CBSE, ICSE schools, bank challans, aeroplane annoucements while the India language Tamil is denied.lt;br/gt;lt;br/gt;stani language speaking Hindians are committing crimes like Murders, Ticketless travels but they are giving lenient treatment compared to Indian language speaking people. stani language states are getting only low cut off requirement in entrance exams compared to Indian language speakers. lt;br/gt;lt;br/gt;stani language people are getting exams in their language as the exams are only translated into stani language Hindi but not in Indian languages.lt;br/gt;lt;br/gt;The secret Muslim Prime minister Narendra Modi even now refuses to endorse the original Indian languages as official languages and only speaks in stani language Hindi most of the time.lt;br/gt;lt;br/gt;Islamization of India is going in full swing, and now Muslim party BJP has brought in Sharia banking to India and his party BJP is doing halal meat export out of India.lt;br/gt;lt;br/gt;India must revert back to Indian languages and stop imposition of Islamic language Hindi and this includes banks, schools, airlines annoucements, trains, airports, insurance, toll free numbers, customer services, consular services etc etc etc.
