Chandigarh: 17 teachers honoured with State Award

The awards were distributed by UT adviser Parimal Rai, who was the chief guest.

Eleven teachers of different schools were honoured with the State Award, while six teachers were given the commendation certificate in a function organised by education department to celebrate the Teachers’ Day at Tagore Theatre on Monday.

The awards were distributed by UT adviser Parimal Rai, who was the chief guest.

National Awardees of 2015 Seema Malhotra from GMSSS-19 and Asatinder Kaur from GMHS-22 were also honoured. The adviser congratulated the teachers and motivated them to continue with the good work and inspired them to teach, demonstrate and be role models for the future of the country.

The programme commenced with the lamp lighting ceremony followed by Ganesh Vandana.
