WITH THE process of admission to entry-level (nursery and pre-nursery) classes set to begin from December 1, prominent private schools of the city are yet to upload the admission details on official school websites made mandatory by the Education Department. As per the common admission schedule, schools need to upload the admission criteria on the school website by November 30. Vivek High School in Sector 38-B has removed the details of admission criteria as the school authorities say all the interested people have already downloaded the forms.

“We had uploaded the details online for the people interested in admissions and have removed these since November 25 as all the interested people have downloaded the forms. Our interpretation was that you only have to upload information before November 30 but there was no instruction when to remove it,” said Renu Puri, principal of Vivek High School. Vivek High School will invite applications for a minimum of 50 seats in the city, said director H S Mamik.
However, Director (School Education) Rubinderjit Singh Brar said, “The admission details should be available at least till December 12 which is the last date for receiving admission applications. Moreover, we have given no directive to remove the admission details from the official school website.”
Similarly, Sacred Heart Convent School, St John’s, St Kabir School, St Anne’s Convent School and Delhi Public School Chandigarh are among other prominent schools which have not uploaded the required information for admission online. Sacred Heart, Sector 26, will invite applications for 160 seats; St John’s High School, Sector 26, for 160 seats; St Kabir School, Sector 26, for 90 seats; St Anne’s for 200 seats; and DPS for 150 seats.
Among the schools that have uploaded admission details on the official school website are Strawberry Fields, Sector 26 (160 seats); Carmel Convent School, Sector 9 (120 seats); and AKSIPS sectors 45 and 41 (60 seats in each branch).
The last date for submitting the applications for admissions is December 12 and as per the common admission schedule norms, the schools cannot hike admission fee by more than 10 per cent.
